Prefold diaper covers are a pretty economical choice.  Secure diaper on baby and top with a diaper cover.  Or easier, just fold diaper into cover and velcro or snap cover around baby.  

How many of what do you need?

Most items have a number range choose the lower end number if you plan to wash diapers every other day.  Choose the upper end number if you would rather wash diapers twice a week.

24-36 infant prefolds

6-8 newborn diaper covers

4-6 small diaper covers

2-3 small night covers

18-30 cloth diaper wipes

1 Bummis ditty bag

1 Bummis tote bag - if you are planning  to travel out of town

optional* 2-4 pairs of pins or 2-4 Snappis or a combination.

How many sizes should I register for?

Consider registering up to size medium.  Some babies are just so skinny they would never use the larger sizes.   Listed below are additional items to register for that you will need later with baby.

18-30 baby prefolds

4-6 medium diaper covers

2-3 night covers  (Imse Vimse Night, Starbunz, or P&P Wool)

2-3 night diapers (Babykicks or Happy Hempy's)
