MODERN TYPES OF DIAPERS IN COMPARISON
When customers come into the showroom we
often start by sitting down and going through the different diaper
types. I start by showing them prefolds and covers,
then the fitteds with covers. Moving on I show them
the pocket diaper and how to stuff it, "remember the
insert is like a pillow and the diaper shell like the pillow case pull
the diaper shell up over the insert." As the brain of the
caregiver becomes more overwhelmed with diaper types, we show them the all-in-one
diaper--it's just one piece and so easy to use. Lastly before
they think we are done, we tell them about the one-size diapers
that fit across the sizes and then amaze them by pointing out that a lot
of the words like pocket and one-size can apply to the other types of
diapers as well so that we have for example a pocket fitted and a
one-size all-in-one in our diapering line up.
Reference the
charts below to get a better idea of the diaper types and their
advantages and disadvantages. With plenty of diapering styles one
is sure to fit your needs best.
Flat Diapers - flat diapers are
large squares or rectangles of fabric that are folded up and used for
diapering. Not in common use today but recommended for camping or
international travel where hand washing and line drying may be required.

Pocket Diapers - pocket diapers
are designed to be trim, easy to use diapers without sacrificing
washability or extending drying time. Diapers are made with a stay
dry interior fabric and a water proof outer fabric. The two layers
form a pocket that an absorbent pad can be placed into. Once the
diaper is assembled it is will be as easy to use as any throw away
diaper.
